Prof. Dr. Mª Sandra Peña-Cervel

M. Sandra Peña-Cervel is a Full Professor of English Linguistics at the University of La Rioja (UR). She has four live research periods granted by the CNEAI. She works in cognitive linguistics, inferential pragmatics, construction grammar, and lexicology. She has published her research in high-impact journals like Language Sciences, Metaphor and Symbol, and Journal of Pragmatics, and in collective volumes in prestigious publishing houses. She has coedited books like Cognitive Linguistics: Internal Dynamics and Interdisciplinary Interaction (2005, Mouton de Gruyter) and Metaphor and Metonymy Revisited beyond the Contemporary Theory of Metaphor (2013, John Benjamins). She is the author of Topology and Cognition (Lincom, 2003), which was translated into Korean, and has coauthored the book Figuring out Figuration (John Benjamins, 2022). She has been invited to present her research in universities across the world, e.g., University of International Business and Economics (Beijing, China), Jan Długosz University (Czȩstochowa, Poland), University of Almería (Spain), and São Luis (Brazil).
